| Awareness on schemes incorporated for rural population held | | | Early Times Report
Kathua, Mar 13: With an aim to bring awareness about various schemes at the door steps of rural masses, District Rural Development Agency (DRDA), Kathua organized a Basic Orientation Training cum Awareness Camp under Swarn Jyanti Swarozgar Yojna at village Jarai here at Kathua today. Detail wise information about various schemes incorporated for rural population covering Agriculture, Horticulture, Animal Husbandry, Sheep Husbandry and other allied departments were imparted by the representatives of concerned departments during the camp.
The impetus was to bring an understanding among the rural community about the working of all these departments.
The crux of all the speakers during their interaction with the locals was to inform and guide them to take maximum out of tailor made schemes.
The thrust was also to adopt mix farming and crash crop culture to enhance the earnings of the ruralities. Besides schemes under Swarn Jyanti Sawrozgar Yojna, schemes of Horticulture under Horticulture Mission, Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojna of Agriculture, sheep husbandry. Animal Husbandry were thoroughly detailed to the people.
The mechanism followed by the banks and information regarding various subsidized and unsubsidized loan schemes were also detailed by the Executive Manager of J&K bank. Lead bank and NABARD officers also threw light on the schemes and working of the institution.
Over 250 people of the area attended the camp. Executive Manager, J&K Bank, Chief Agriculture Officer, Chief Animal Husbandry Officer, Chief Sheep Husbandry Officer, Horticulture Development Officer, Lead Bank Officer, District Development Manager, NABARD, Subject Matter Specialist (Agriculture), Assistant Project Officer, DRDA,, Kathua, Sarpanchs, Panchs, Panchayat Secretary were also present during the camp. |
