Train youngsters in civil defence to deal with exigencies: Doley | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Mar 13: The Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) HG/CD and State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), Smt. D. R. Doley called for major initiative to train and acquaint youngsters in civil defence mechanism to meet challenges in exigencies like natural calamities. She said they have been playing an excellent role in the aftermath of natural and man made calamities. Inaugurating the four weeks long Orientation Course for first Responders held at SDRF Battalion Headquarters today, the ADGP threw light on the importance of Orientation Course, organized by the department and gave stress for undergoing this training course to become aware of disaster management and to work with more dedication. She said to prove the prudential of the State Disaster Response Force only to utilize their services in training general masses and save human lives and public property in the event of any calamity and natural man made disasters. She also disclosed that after completing the various training courses and achieving ability in the profession, they will be put to job so that they are able to handle the situation properly and also educate the public about the mechanism. She said that the Organizations are wholeheartedly committed to the noble task of selfless service to the community. Smt. Doley stressed for involving more and more people in the activities of Civil Defence by strengthening the training infrastructure and enhancing the capacity to deal disasters. She said that organisation has brought awareness among the masses during past several years but there is still need to do much more in this regard. They are upholding the highest tradition of voluntary service, she added. On the occasion, several speakers deliberated the importance of natural calamities and man made disasters and to educate the personnel and civilians to deal such situations. The speakers include DIG, Sham Lal Sharma, SSsP, Ghulam Sarwar Chouhan and Mehraj-ud-din, Commandants, R. S. Manhas, Alok Nanda and several Jammu based Wardens of Civil Defence Organization. |
