JAMMU, Mar 13: Quarterfinals position has been cleared with the entry of J&K Bank-B team in the ongoing 2nd Rajeev Gandhi Memorial Football Tournament at GGM Science College ground, here today.
Other teams qualifying for the last eight stages included young Hero, J&K Police, J&K Forest XI, J&K Bank, Power Development Corporation (PDC)-A, Sainik Colony Club and PAP Jallandhar.
In the two quarterfinals, scheduled for tomorrow, PDC-A shall take on PAP Jallandhar at 2 pm while J&K Bank shall lock horns against Young Hero at 3.30 pm.
Earlier, in the pre-quarterfinal match, played today, J&K Bank-B trounced Churchill Brothers by two goals to nil.
Churchill Brothers gave a tough fight to Bank men before they lost the game. Bank scored first goal after Mohit Verma netted a penalty stroke awarded in their favour in the 60th minute.
The second goal was scored by Jamshed in the 63rd minute. |
