Workshop on "Manscriptology and Paleography" held | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU , Mar 13 : Today on 14th day of three week long workshop on "Manscriptology and Paleography" a renowned artist Inder Singh interacted with the participants of the workshop. The workshop is being organized by the department of Urdu, University of Jammu in collaboration with National Mission for Manuscripts, Ministry for Culture, Govt. of India. Inder Singh informed the participants about some old manuscripts which are in shabby condition. He particularly threw light on those manuscripts which are in bad condition and informed the participants "How to repair damaged manuscripts". "How they are kept after repairing" and "what are the importances of these manuscripts". He also displayed some damaged manuscripts of Punjabi, Urdu and Persian and practically showed the method of saving these manuscripts. He also displayed some repair manuscripts which were earlier in shabby condition. Inder Singh said that Manuscripts had a great importance in present era and advised the participants to come forward in this field and collect the literary treasure of manuscripts. On this occasion the HOD Urdu Shohab Inayat Malik informed that department of Urdu had near about 135 manuscripts in the departmental library which would be repaired and saved in near future for the benefit of new generation. Besides 25 participants of the workshop Chaman lal, A R Manhas, Farat Shamim and Puesh were also present in today's programme |
