VOICE organised HIV / AIDS awareness campaign | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU , Mar 13 : HIV/AIDS awareness campaign through cultural programme was organised by Volunteers Organisation for International Cooperation and Equality (VOICE) in collaboration with J&K State AIDS Prevention and Control Society & NYK in various rural and far-flung areas of Gool block District Ramban. A prominent group of the local artists had organized various cultural activities related to the subject matter in the different Pyts of the Gool block in Distt. Ramban. During the programmes various experts & volunteers delivered the lectures on HIV/AIDS sexually transmitted diseases (STD) its causes and preventive measures & also said that AIDS is incurable. The main aim and objective of this programme was to aware and educate the rural masses/youth about this deadly disease, its causes and preventions, which possess a serious threat to the mankind. The programme was attended by various farmers, women youth, Serpanches/ Panches Anganwari /Asha workers, students, volunteers of Youth Clubs. During the campaign literature on HIV/AIDS was also distributed among the participants/masses published by J&KSAPCS. The Chairman "VOICE" Advocate Imtiyaz -ul Abrar appealed the rural masses/youth of the area to come forward to eradicate this disease by adopting all preventive measures to lead a healthy life style to build the nation strong. The public and the local administration of these areas appreciated the efforts of the "VOICE" & J&K AIDS prevention and control society for organizing such awareness programmes in such a hilly and rural areas for the public interest. Others who were present in the programme include Naveed Singh, Nazeer Mohd Dar, Mehraj-ud-din Hanifa Begum, Sher Mohd, Sameena Begum, Nahida Bano, Nazir Ahmed Mughal, Maneera Begum, Jamal Din, Fareed Ahmed, Shafiq Ahmed and other prominent artists. |
