BJP, PP silent over JKCA scam.......! | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Mar 13: Even as the political heat generated over the multi crore scam in Jammu Kashmir Cricket Association is gradually gaining momentum, there are only two rival parties engaged in the arguments and counter arguments- PDP and NC.Rest of the political spectrum is silent and watching the two rivals 'locking horns' over the issue. While ruling Congress' silence is understood, it being the ally in the coalition, silence of other opposition parties like BJP, splinter group of BJP and Panthers Party amid the loud vocies of PDP is becoming conspicuous. While PDP is seen in no mood to relent over the controversy, raising pitch over the demand for action and questioning in the matter from the highest level, NC today came in full defense is support of the patron of the party Dr Farooq Abdullah in both the Houses. PDP raked up the issue from day one both within and outside the Assembly, and from the leader of the opposition Mehbooba Mufti to the party MLAs, all have now been vociferously raking up the issue with slogans against the JKCA president, demanding action. PDP has been seeking adjournment of the House and moved motion twice over the matter which was however not admitted by the Speaker. Even though the matter resonated inside the legislative Assembly today with NC, including some ministers expressing anger over the manner PDP has raked up the matter in the House, contending it was against the rules tospeak against someone not a member of the House, it stalled the proceedings and quite some time of the question hour. While the two sides saw exchange of heated arguments, other opposition parties watched this as mute spectators, speaking no word, not to speak of any statement, over the issue. CPM legislator MY Tarigami and PP legislator Harsh Dev Singh, BJP legislators Prof Chaman Lal Gupta, Ashok Khajuria and Jugal Kishore, JSM MLA Ashwani Kumar too, all are maintaining studied silence over the issue. In the political spectrum of 'permutations and combinations' where politics reigns supreme over all issues, one wonders why opposition remains divided on general issues. |
