JKCA issue: PDP(Y) stages protest, burns Farooq's effigy | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Mar 14: Demanding action against UnionMinister Farooq Abdullah for his alleged involvement in multi crore scam in Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA), Peoples Democratic Party Youth wing organised ademonstration in the city. The protestors also burnt effigy of Farooq Abdullah to give vent to their ire against him for alleged involvement in looting moneymeant for the development of cricket in the State. A large numbers of PDP youth wing activists under the leadership of Rajinder Manhas were gathered in front of the Exhibition Ground. They started march towards the city but they were prevented by the police to do so.The PDP activists shouted slogans against ruling National Conference for encouragingcorruption in the state. Addressing the party workers, Rajinder Manhas said that corruptionhas been legalized in the state because involvement of senior leaders ofNational Conference has been established in many corruption cases. Manhas andother speakers mentioned that earlier Farooq Abdullah's name was figured in mysterious killing of Haji Mohammad Yosuf but the issue was buried by the stategovernment. "Now involvement of Farooq Abdullah has been established insiphoning off crores of rupees from the JKCA. We demand CBI probe into thematter because many big guns have been involved in this scam," they said. Manhas further said that instead of properly investigating the case, the government has been looking for some scape goats. Later PDP activists burnt effigy of State Government. |
