| Govt trying to bulldoze opposition: Mehbooba | | 'Privilege motion shows their frustration' | | early times report
Jammu, Mar 14: Unrelenting over the JKCA scam, PDP PresidentMehbooba Mufti today accused the NC led coalition of trying to muzzle and gagthe voices of her party over thefinancial irregularities in the Sports body that have surfaced last week.
" They cannot muzzleour voice and bulldoze us like this…….we have sufficient proof and we are goingto nail them down", Mehbooba said adding that "by bringing this motion the NCactually tries to gag the opposition as they have no answers to our question", Mehbooba said with reference to the privilege motion against her and few moreMLAs of her party admitted by the Speaker. Mehbooba said this while speaking tomedia outside the Assembly today.
Taking strong exception to privilege motion she said thatthe state government was trying to 'bulldoze' the opposition and silence voicesof opposition.
Meanwhile while speaking to media outside the Assembly, PDPpresident Mehbo-oba Mufti said the privilege motion against PDP by governmentprojects its frustration as their top leadership is coming under scanner inJKCA scam.
Mehbooba Mufti said, "Muzaffar Hussain Baig has already explained in the House that since party has not yet presented anydocuments in the matter, there was no point of bringing privilege motion. " Weare trying to gather and weave somedocuments…….but as of now we have not been allowed to produce the evidencewhich is why we insisted on discussion in the House", the PDP president saidadding that privilege motion against PDP by government projects its frustrationas their top leadership is coming under scanner in JKCA scam. The financial embezzlements are of serious nature and we are getting evidence that wouldsubstantiate involvement of the JKCA president Dr Farooq Abdullah in it, Mehbooba said reiterating her party's demand that proper enquiry needed to beordered and action from the top was must at the initial stage.
"How is it possible that without the knowledge of Dr. FarooqAbdullah, fake accounts of JKCA were opened and huge embezzlement of funds wastaken place" she questioned…… contending with assertion that if Ghulam Mohammad Saroori (ex R& B minister)and Suresh Kalmadi could be nailed down, why notDr. Farooq Abdullah?. |
