| PDP surprised over privilege motion on JKCA issue | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Jammu, Mar 14: Senior Peoples Democratic Party leader Muzaffer Hussain Baig Wednesday expressed surprise over National Conference legislators moving a Privilege Motion against them for producing documents related to multi-crore Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association scam As soon as the House met here today Muzaffer Hussain Baig sttod up from his seat and said, " "We have received breach of privilege moved by some NC legislators which has been admitted according to which our six members have mislead the house by presenting false documents in the house related to the JKCA scam". Baig clarified .
"We didn't produce any documents. Our demand was that a discussion should be held in the house over the scam which was disallowed by you according to your wisdom".
Speaker Muhammad Akbar Lone, however, told Baig to send a written statement. "You should send it in writing and I will announce my decision after examining it" Speaker told Baig.
No sooner Baig completed his point, Er. Rashid independent MLA stood up from his seat and asked the Speaker to allow him to make his point.
" I was not allowed to raise my point the other day about the victims of Kunan poshpora incident of 1991" Rashid said.
As Rashid tried to draw the attention of the house towards government for not fulfilling its promise of paying Rs 2 lakhs as compensation to mass rape victims of Kunanposhpora.
Mir Saifullah objected saying, "That area falls in my constituency what you have got to do with it why do you poke your nose everywhere." Mir said and continued, "I will not allow you to do politics on victims of Kunan-poshpora and I will not tolerate the insult of my sisters by rasing this issue in the House again and again" On this both exchanged heated words for quite some time over the issue. |
