JMC continues anti encroachment drive | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, Mar 14 : Under instructions from K.L. Khajuria Commissioner Municipal Corporation Jammu, the Enforcement Staff of Jammu Municipal Corporation led by Chief Enforcement Officer while further continuing and intensifying the Anti Encroachment drive to clear the footpaths / pavements, parts of road sides visited the areas of Gandhi Nagar, Shastri Nagar and Nai Basti. During the drive the teams seized materials / goods/ articles like m cans, storage bins, Big containers, trunks, tubs, plastic goods, chairs, dust bins, stands, racks, baskets etc which were kept by the shopkeepers by encroaching upon footpaths / pavements thereby causing inconvenience to the pedestrians and also creating obstruction in the free movements of vehicular traffic. Besides this, the team also continued the drive against the use of polythene carry bags and inspected various shops and other outlets in these areas. During the inspection the team seized about 15 Kgs of polythene carries bags and an amount of Rs. 7200 was also realized as compounding fee from the defaulters on spot. The Jammu Municipal Corporation appeals to the General Public to discard the use of polythene carry bags and adopt alternate arrangements to carry their commodities. The drive has been conducted with the help of Police Force from Gandhi Nagar Police Station and from District Police Lines, Jammu. |
