| JKCA scam a fit case for Makhan to take suo-motto action | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Mar 14: The alleged embazellement in Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association is afit case for union sports minister Ajay Makan to take suo-motto action in thisregard.
Ajay Makkan has been consitently trying to make BCCI moretransparent and had tried to bring in BCCI under RTI but didn't succeed.
The alleged scam which has surfaced by the efforts of PDPthough it being contested in the court, is a fit case for him to take hold onBCCI which is the most wealthy sports body of the country.
The funds alleged misused by the JKCA were given by theBCCI. BCCI is central subject and sportsminister would be in its right to start investigation in the matter.
This has been the demand of PPD and its senior most leaderMuzzfar Hussain Beigh had made appeal to the sports minister to take action inthis regard.
It become more imperative on part of the Makhan to do asstate government is not accepting to the demand of PDP for CBI inquiry into it.
The rejection of CBI inquiry has raised more doubts aboutthe role of NC patron and former chief minister in the alleged.
An independent inquiry by the sports minister, by taking suomotto action, would dispel the notion that Centre is trying to shield somewrong doing.
By taking action, the sports minister would manage to givesignal that Centre is serious against corruption, which would be the most rightthing to do when UPA graph is down on account of scams and debacle in UP.
The second most important thing raised by Beigh was aboutviolation of Transfer of Property Act as BCCI didn't give compensation for landon which stadium is being constructed in Srinagar.
There are also reports that Stadium is being constructed ata land where number of Chinar trees have been planted and will be axed. It will only add name to the BCCI which is already embroiledin controversies.
Sports minister by taking action would not only get handleto streamline the functioning of BCCI but would also set the things right inJ&K where cricket has suffered due to JKCA, which has become a place ofpolitical patronage. |
