| As all we know that the women in India and the rest of the nations have been facing the domination in the male dominated society and over the last10-15 years gender and development has indeed been discussed a great deal. The patriarchal based society's where male is considered to be the heads of households, bread winners, and managers of property and active in politics, religion, business and the professions. Women on the other hand are expected and trained to bear and look after children. It is the fact that women in spite of being the worker of inside but no doubt they are doing the more work than male. Right from the sun show its face in morning the women starts to work at home till the late night. She has to work for a whole day and than what she get in the end only the order of the male . A woman remains unpaid and if ever she get not as compared to male. Here arises the question about why Woman remain unpaid even she is a part of active work inside and outside the house. In a book understanding Gender (Kamla Basin) quoted If a woman can cook, so can a man because a woman doesn't cook with her womb. What is it means that the different statuses and roles of women and men enjoy in the society is indeed socially and culturally determined and it is all the subject of man-made, so we Have to look after the development and empowerment of women for the development of nation as a whole. Empowerment of women, also called genderempowerment, has become a significant topic of discussion in regards to development and economics. Entire nations, businesses, communities, and groups can benefit from the implementation of programs and policies that adopt the notion of women empowerment. Empowerment is one of the main procedural concerns when addressing human Rights and Development. The Human development and Capabilities Approach, The Millennium development goals, and other credible approaches/goals point to empowerment and participation as a necessary step if a country is to overcome the obstacles associated with poverty and development. Women empowerment is what the women should have the Self-decision regarding education, participation, mobility, economic independency, public speaking, awareness and exercise of rights, political participation and many more factors ensure women empowerment. From the several decades women has remain asthe" FROG OF WELL" where they are not allowed to work outside of house and not even to participate in a decision making . In a domination state for the women they are not allowed to participate in educational fields as the men is allowed even to go out for the studies .But in a modern society male dominated rulers even felt the need of women forthe development of nation because the women population of world is the half of the overall population. The government infect implemented the strategies forthe women empowerment in term of social, economical, educational and religious. The sociologists and economists begins to find out the ways for the empowerment of women in nation and the One way to deploy the empowerment of women is through land rights. It is a base for the empowerment of women in any nation. This right makes them economically strong and giving them the confidence they need to tackle gender inequalities. Often, women in developing nations are legally restricted from their land on the sole basis of gender. Having a right to their land gives women a sort of bargaining Power that they would not normally have, that always earlier belong to men. It is a way for others to see them as equal membersof society. Through this, they achieve more self-respect and confidence by their contributions to their communities. Another most important strategy for the women empowerment is to letting them in participation of political area. Political participation, be it the ability to vote and voice opinions, or the ability to run for office with a fair chance of being elected, plays a huge role in the empowerment of peoples. However, participation is not limited to the realm of politics. It can include participation in the household in schools, and the ability to make choices for one. When women have the agency to do what she wants, a higher equality between men and women is established. Empowerment of women employees in the work place provides them with opportunities to make their own decisions with regards to their tasks and they can hold their family independently. Domination is one of the kinds of mental illness which the women had from the years of ago but with the passage of time and the new laws, strategies enacted by government for the empowerment of women get them out from this illness and dilemma. Even in India many of the nongovernmental organizations (NGO's) helps the government to work on the issue of women discrimination and the domination factors. They are working in rural areas pointed out the lack of participation by the poor and a woman in development programmes. This is what the people's participation like a bottom up approach. We have still few of the rural areas of India where women have been subordinated which is now illegal before the society and before the eyes of law. we should work for the benefit of women because nations development is only possible when women can participate equally in each and every areas. |
