| PDD Katra adds woes to its consumers, sends bills at its own wish | | | EARLY TIMES report
KATRA, MAR 15: Locals in Katra alleged that Power Development Department (PDD) Katra isdispatching the mon-thly power consumption charges to its consumers at its will particularly in non metered localities.
Talkingto this correspondent, people have complained of some employees of PDD Katra, who are regularly registering electric meter units to their will on higher sidewhich is leaving the consumers on loosing end. 'Some areas of Katra yet are to see installation of electric meters even then the PDDemployees charge maximum bills, they lamented. Expressing great surprise and resentment especially when many of the consumers receivedthe computerised power tariff and the bills are indicating the higher sideonly, they added. NarinderSingh, Pardeep Gupta, Swarn Singh and many others itched by the same 'swollenpower bills' lamented if the concerned department is always giving vary ingusage to same user every month.
Theyalleged all this is done to harass consumers so that they willfully surrenderto the demands of PDD employees.
Meanwhile many demanded state government must-announce some amn-estyu to pending power bills that are swelling with each passing month or a year resulting into burden to common man. Owing to financial crunch in the state the concerned department dole amnesty scheme to consumers instead of acting as ' Saahukaar' and charging compound interest @ 1.5% to itsprincipal amount |
