| SKUAST-J celebrates Vanmahotsava | | | EARLY TIMES report
Jammu, Mar 15: In order to generate mass awareness about the plantation of trees in temperate areas of Jammu region, KVK Doda of SKUAST-Jammu celebrated Vanmahotsava in Gatha area of Doda District. The event was conducted under the directions of Dr K S Rissam, Director Extension, SKUAST- Jammu. On this occasion, a massive plantation drive was launched under the supervision of Dr Sanjay Khajuria. On the first day, several saplings of Himalayan Popular were planted in the premises of G H S, Nichlathara, Gatha, where several number of participants actively participated. The programme was started with the welcome address by Shahnawaz Mattoo, where, he welcomed Dr. Sanjay Khajuria to their institution. Speaking on the occasion, chairman of the programme, Dr. Sanjay Khajuria laid out the importance of planting trees. On the occasion, teachers and students took a pledge that they will definitely plant a tree during the birthdays of each individual. After that, a massive plantation drive was undertaken in the premises of the school, where several saplings of the Himalayan Popular were planted by Dr. Sanjay Khajuria, teachers and students. In the end, vote of thanks was presented by Quazi, Headmistress of the G H S, Gatha. |
