Two CRPF jawans injured in Srinagar grenade explosion | | | Early Times Report Srinagar, Mar 15: Two central reserve police force (CRPF) troopers were injured in a separatist grenade attack in summer capital Srinagar Thursday evening. A senior police officer said, "Militants hurled a powerful hand grenade at a CRPF camp in Karan Nagar area of the city today evening. "The grenade exploded outside the CRPF camp injuring a head constable and a constable of the CRPF. "They were shifted to the nearby S.M.H.S. hospital where attending doctors said both of them are out of danger". A CRPF inspector told reporters that the grenade was lobbed at a CRPF vehicle carrying food for the jawans in the Karan Nagar area of Srinagar. Tension gripped the busy Karan Nagar business hub of the city as shopkeepers closed their shops and people rushed for cover after the explosion. Senior police and CRPF officials rushed to the spot immediately after the explosion. No separatist group has so far owned responsibility for the explosion. |
