Library Sciences, Chemistry win in JU Cricket

Jammu, Mar 16: Department of Library Sciences and Department of Chemistry won their respective matches to move into the next round of pre-quarterfinals of the ongoing inter-department Twenty20 Cricket Tournament of University of Jammu on the campus, here today.
In the first match, Department of Library trounced Department of History by three wickets.
Earlier, batting first, History bowled out for 131 runs in 19.4 overs, which, in reply, Library Sciences chased in 18.3 overs losing their seven wickets.
Yogesh played brilliant innings of 77 (off 56 balls, 2x6, 10x4) while Ashish and Mubarak contributed 10 runs each. From Library Sciences, Parveen took three wickets, followed by Sheil Khan and Mangat, who shared two wickets each.
Later, Library Sciences achieved the target 18.3 overs with three wickets in hand. Parveen and Kamaljeet were main contributors to the total with 51 and 34 runs in their respective accounts. From History Department, Mouiz bagged three wickets while Udhay and Nitin took one each.
In another match of the day, Department of Chemistry defeated Department of Sociology by six wickets. Batting first, after winning the toss, Sociology bowled out for 96 in 19.2 overs.
Khalik was top scorer with 30 runs while Manish and Rajneesh contributed 19 and 15 runs respectively. Vishal Atri was most successful bowler with three wickets while Yawar Mir sand Yattinder shared two each.
In reply, Department of Chemistry attained the goal in 15.2 overs for the loss four wickets. Yawar was top scorer with 34 runs while Gurpreet and Sahil Ali added valuable 13 runs each. Extras contributed second highest 30 runs to the total. Alyas, Rajnish and Muzfar took one wicket each from Department of Sociology.
Today's match matches were officiated by Raj Kumar, Rajeev Sharma, Dheeraj Sharma, Vijay Dogra and Sat Paul (scorer)
