J&K Bank beat PAP Jallandhar 5-4 to enter final | 2nd Rajiv Gandhi Gold Cup Football | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Mar 16: Jammu and Kashmir Bank turned out to be lucky side after they defeated equally good Punjab Armed Police (PAP) Jallandhar 5-4 in tie-breaker to enter final of the ongoing 2nd Rajiv Gandhi Gold Cup Football Tournament at GGM Science College ground, here today. Played a goalless draw in the stipulated time, both sides got equal opportunities but could not convert them into goals. However, Bank had to play with a ten-member team in the second half after forward Zubair's twice yellow by center referee in the 53rd and 75th minute automatically became red thereby forcing his exit. Later, in tie-breaker, J&K Bank emerged winner 5-4. Sumit, Jatinder, Harshdeep and Baljeet were successful in penalty shoot outs from PAP Jallandhar while Jasbir missed. From J&K Bank, Bilal, Rizwan, Khalid and Adil were scorers. Now, in the second semifinal, scheduled for tomorrow, J&K Police shall take on J&K Forest at 3 pm. Today's semifinal was officiated by Rakesh Kumar, Vijay Kumar, Koushal Kumar and Gagan Kumar. |
