Folk Festival "Lok Rang" concludes

Jammu, Mar 16: "Lok Rang", a two day Folk Festival, organized by the Department of Students Welfare, University of Jammu for the Private B. Ed. Colleges, affiliated to the University of Jammu, concluded with the presentation of folk songs.
Dhian. S. Bhau, director, Directorate of Sports and Physical Education, was the Chief Guest on this occasion and distributed the prizes amongst the participating teams alongwith N. K. Tripathi, Dean Students Welfare and Jasbir Singh, Chairman, Campus Cultural Committee.
Speaking on the occasion Bhau, congratulated the students for their awesome performances. He further said that the younger generation is really the stakeholder of our various Folk forms. The youth should participate in such activities with enthusiasm as these play a pivotal role in all-round development of the personality. The participants presented Dogri, Punjabi, Himachali and Haryanvi Songs from the rich treasure of folk music of various regions. The themes included the hard life of Dogras, the beauty of the Mother Nature, Rituals of Marriages ceremony, the pangs of separation of a daughter from her father, friends and family members etc.
The participating teams included Shivalik College of Education, Rajiv Gandhi College of Education, Surya College of Education, M.C. Khalsa College of Education, Kalra College of Education, Sai Shyam College of Education, Dogra College of Education, Vimal Muni College of Education, Chenab College of Education, Trikuta College of Education, K.C College of Education, Vivekananda College of Education and KCS College of Education for Women.
Vote of thanks was presented by Vijay Atri.
The programme was compeered by Rani Kumari, Secretary, Students Cultural Council.
Among others, Pankaj Dogra, Ramesh Sharma, PTI Campus, Suriender Pal Sharma, Pooja Langeh and Gourab Sharma, Joint Secretaries, SCC, Ashwani Kumar, Assistant Registrar, Chairmen, Principals, staff and students of the affiliated colleges were also present on this occasion.
