| One arrested alongwith 56 kgs poppy straw | | | Early Times Report
Udhampur, Mar 16: In continuation to drive launched by District Police Udhampur to nab drug peddlers indulging in illegal trade of drugs, Police seized one truck at Battal Morh, Majalta and recovered 56 Kgs of Poppy Straw (Bhuki) from the said truck with the arrest of one drug peddler. According to police reports, "based on a specific input, a Police Party led by Inspr Kuldeep Khajuria, SHO P/S Majalta laid a surprise Naka near Battal Morh and intercepted a truck Bearing Reg No JK02D-0863.
"During thorough search of the truck, 56 Kgs of Poppy Straw (Bhuki) was recovered and arrested one person Harbans Singh S/o Kirpal Singh R/o Ward No. 13, Sawan Chack, Kathua who was transporting the contraband from Kashmir Valley towards Punjab was arrested on the spot and vehicle seized, he added. In this connection, a case FIR No. 11/2012 U/S 8/15 NDPS Act stands registered in Police Station Majalta against the accused person. |
