Ex-Bollywood actress found dead at in-laws' house | | | Asif Iqbal Naik
Kishtwar March 16: 22-year-old Suman Rathore alias Sapna, who worked in Bollywood movie “Ziyarat” and played the role of a Kashmiri Pandit girl, allegedly committed suicide at her in-laws' house at Poochal, about 5 km from here, last night. Sapna's parents, however, alleged that she had been murdered by her husband and his family members. After receiving the complaint, senior police officers rushed to the spot and inspected the scene of crime. After Sapna's father Lakhmi Chand Rathore lodged a report with them, police registered a case under section 306 of RPC and arrested the husband of the deceased, Kuljeet Kumar Parihar, son of Anant Ram Parihar of Poochal, and his brothers Vinod kumar and Surinder Kumar. According to Lakhmi, Sapna last night informed him over cellphone that her husband and his family members were not in her favour of doing job in a private school in the area. Lakhmi then assured him that he would speak to her husband and other family members in the morning on the issue. After couple of hours, they received a call from her in-laws that she had committed suicide by hanging herself from the ceiling fan hook, he claimed, suspecting some foul play behind her death. DSP Abrar Ahmed Chowdhary said that police shifted the dead body to hospital where a board of doctors, constituted by district magistrate, Kishtwar, conducted the post-mortem on it. The body was later handed over to the father of the deceased for last rites, he informed. After returning from Mumbai, Sapna was married to Kuljeet about 8 months ago.
