SRTC volunteers holds protest against Govt. | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Mar 17: All J&K SRTC Volunteer Retirement Employees Association (VREA) today held a protest demonstration against the adamant attitude of State Government and SRTC management for not clearing their demands. The employees were raising slogans against both the concerned authorities and finance department and tried to move toward the secretariat in the shape of a rally but the police halted them forcefully and kept them within the premises of Exhibition ground. While briefing to media president of the association Dev Raj Bali said that the J&K SRTC management has not fulfilled our demands included 126 slabs of COLA, pending arrears since 1999 and 6th pay commission w.e.f. 2006 and has also cheated us as the 126 slabs of COLA is given to in-service and employees and we have been ignored. He alleged that the SRTC management has wrongly represented their case before the finance department of J&K government which is still pending there for which they are struggling for the last two years. He also said that the finance department is not clearing the liabilities whereas the state government has given the package to the VRS employees to clear our leave salary, gratuity, ex-gratia grant and pending arrears. He appealed to the J&K finance department to take their case in hands and disburse their dues through finance department bit not through the J&K JSRTC as their already allotted/sanctioned money is being misutilized by the management of SRTC for other purposes. |
