| JKPDP protests against JKCA scam | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Mar 17: Jammu & Kashmir People Democratic Party held a strong protest at Parade Ground against JKCA scam which was lead by Vikram Singh, Girish Sharma, Pankaj Gupta, Sachin Sharma, Sonu Saini, Sahil Jandria, Rajat Gupta all leaders of PDP
PDP leaders demanded to register an FIR against Union Minister Farooq Abdullah, who is also the president of JKCA. Officers have only been expelled, not a single arrest has been made till date.
Why so? This showcases the double- standard adopted by the government in matters relating to corruption. Farooq Abdullah has failed to look into the corruption cases in JKCA.
A complaint must be lodged against him. Vikram Singh said the scam allegedly involves siphoning off funds to the tune of Rs.24.64 crore, meant for cricket by creating bogus accounts.
Girish Sharma said there is a need to get the investigation conducted by CBI in the case as has happened in similar nature of allegations outside Jammu and Kashmir, particularly in case of Suresh Kalmadi.
Sachin Sharma said after the leaks in media about bungling, misuse and misappropriation of funds and the FIR lodged against some officials by the Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA ) the entire functioning of the Association has become suspect in the public, bringing integrity of the top brass also in question and in the instant case that of Farooq Abdullah as President of JKCA who cannot and should not evade responsibility. |
