Contempt against finance commissioner for dis-obedience of court directions | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Mar 17: In a petition filed by Suresh Kumar Raina which was disposed of by the court on September 24, 2010, with a direction to the state to regularise his services in terms of SRO 64 of 1994 within a period of three months. Justice J P Singh of high court, after hearing the counsels of two sides, observed that the forest commissioner had filed an affidavit which revealed that the forest department had been disabled to implement the court directions because of erroneous stand taken by the finance department in treating the petitioner as casual employ rather than a daily rated worker as held by the high court. This amounted to the disobedience of the high court orders and a case of contempt was made out. The high court issued notice to finance commissioner to show cause as to why he be not proceeded against for disobedience of the court directions issued on September 24, 2010. |
