UDC (NGO) demands cleanliness of Devika river

UDHAMPUR , Mar 17 : An extra ordinary meeting of Udhampur Development Council was held here under the chairmanship of Parvesh Parihar. In the meeting discussion was held on the unhygienic condition of sacred Devika. In meeting all the members of NGO and social activists participated . Parihar in his address demanded from state as well as district administration to chalk out strategy to get sacred area clean and ban dumping of garbage on river side.
He further demanded all those drains of town which open river side should be diverted to other sides and the whole area should be beautified by directing garden and floriculture department.
Anil Paba social activist in his address appealed to the masses of town as well as adjoining area to stop dumping garbage and sacred material in river.
Prominent social activists present in meeting were Ranjit Parihar, Rajesh Sharma, Chander Khajuria, Rakesh Padha and Vikas Padha.
