Corruption, discrimination no issues for BJP, Panthers Party...? | | | ET Report JAMMU, Mar 18: Budget session of assembly which saw a short break of 3 days is all set to commence tomorrow and in all probability on a peaceful note thanks to the opposition minus PDP which is making think easy for the government. The ongoing session is almost over by half of its scheduled business that was earmarked for nearly one month. The session till date has witnessed ruckus, pandemonium clamor and sloganeering, predominantly over the issue of corruption. The issue generated heat within and outside the house with NC led coalition government getting grilled and cornered on various issues. While the session is now left with less than a week as far as its scheduled business is concerned yet government is managing well to 'steer' itself 'clear' out of rough and troubled water. The main opposition party PDP is however making unrelenting effort to take them on various issues including the JKCA multicrore scam. The party legislators including its stalwarts including Mehbooba Mufti and Muzaffar Hussain Beigh are leaving no stone unturned to rake up the issue furiously inside the house. While the PDP is performing the role of opposition, one wonders at the role of other opposition parties like BJP, its expelled group led by Prof. Chaman Lal Gupta, the fiery JKNPP legislators and the lone independent MLA Ashwani Kumar who have maintained studied silence over the issue of corruption. None of these parties have either, come up individually to attack the government on a hosts of issue, nor joined chorus of PDP in whatever way its legislators are trying to a raise the matter inside the house. In other words, their role is being seen over the issue of corruption more or less to their counter part on treasury benches. One is only surprised over the fact that much and of assembly almost all were vocal loud, criticizing and castigating the government to the extent of demanding resignation of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah. Party and its supremo at one point of the were demanding imposition of governor's rule in the state. BJP, as well as Panthers Party whose political agenda is based on the discrimination with Jammu are silent over the issue and taking this hands down in so for as the discrimination meted out to Jammu is concerned. None of these parties has so for been able to take on the govt. on scores of issues and factors where Jammu is still receiving end. |
