Farooq forgets another deadline | Foundation stone for Bajalta Stadium | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Mar 18: President of the Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA), Dr Farooq Abdullah forgot another deadline of laying the foundation stone for dream project of a proposed international cricket stadium at Bajalta in the outskirts of the city. It was not for the first time that Union Minister and head of the Association made an unfulfilled promise to the cricket lovers of Jammu that work on the stadium would start soon. The last time, Dr Farooq made a promise for foundation stone on March 18, after inaugurating the talent hunt programme of the BCCI at GGM Science College Hostel ground, here. The promise was reiterated by chairman of JKCA, Mohd Aslam Goni during an interaction with the media at Jammu wing office of the Association recently. Meanwhile, in a handout issued by the JKCA Jammu wing in a meeting held here today termed the ongoing unrest in the Association as reason for another delay in the laying of foundation stone for the cricket stadium. Earlier, members observed a two-minute silence to condole the unfortunate passing away of Ayoudhya Devi, mother of vice-chairman, Shamboo Nath Sharma and death of former Ranji Trophy cricketer, Vishal Sharma at Chandigarh recently. In the meantime, members of the working committee of JKCA in a separate meeting held here today expressed their concern over the shabby financial scam that involves the members of present set of office bearers. They demanded an independent inquiry into financial transactions and construction works.
