early times report
Jammu, Mar 18: Kash-miri Pandit youths continued their hunger strike and protest demonstrations for the sixth day on Sunday against the Jammu and Kashmir government's alle-ged failure to implement the special prime minister employment package for the community in total.
Several Kashmiri Pandit organisations held a protest here demanding full implementation of Prime Minis-ter's employment package for youths of the displaced community. "The employment package was annou-nced long back in April, 2008 by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, but still it has not been fully implemented in the state," Youth All India Kashmiri Samaj (YAIKS) president R K Bhat told reporters. He said of the 6,000 jobs announced under the package, only 1,438 posts have been filled so far.
