Kishtwar, Mar 19: Six persons, including three students, were injured after a car hit them outside dak bungalow in Doda today.According to eyewitnesses, students of Primary School, Khoti Basti, Doda, along with local inhabitants were protesting outside the office of Chief Education Officer, Doda, against the shortage of teaching staff and infrastructure in the school. They had blocked the main road. In the meantime, Shuja Khan, son of Mohammad Iqbal Khan, appeared at the sight and sought passage for his vehicle bearing registration No JK06-4460 (Honda city), but the same was denied by the agitating people. While trying to forcibly take his car from there, he allegedly hit six people, including three students, the eyewitnesses alleged.The angry people, however, caught hold of him when he was trying to flee and tried to burn his car. Police, however, reached there timely and took him into custody, besides seizing his car.He was booked under sections 307, 506 and 323 of RPC at Doda police station. |
