Jammu, Mar 19: Crime Branch, Jammu has registered a criminal Case FIR No.09/2012 u/s 420, 467, 468, 471, 120-B RPC r/w Section 5(2)P.C Act Svt. 2006 against the then Tehsildar, then Patwari, and others of village Nandni for changing the ownership rights of complainants over the major chunk of land measuring 53 kanal 04 marlas in all.
According to spokesperson of Crime Branch Jammu the brief facts of the case are that a written complaint forwarded by Led Chief Judicial Magistrate, Jammu was received in Crime Branch, Jammu wherein the complainants namely Sukhdev Singh and Prem Singh alleged that Smt Dhan Devi D/o Amar Singh was owner of land comprising khasra Nos. 32, 32min, 38, 39, 59, 107, 108, 109, 109 min and 153 measuring 241 kanal 8 marlas situated at village Nandni Tehsil & District Jammu and after her death, the estate devolved upon her son Sukhdev Singh and one Lakhan Singh. Some vested interest persons including the then Tehsildar Settlement and Patwari Darshan Lal allegedly entered into a criminal conspiracy with the accused persons and by sheer abuse of their official position attested Mutation No. 61 dated 20.03.1995 diverting the ownership rights of complainant over 153 kanal and 8 marlas of land and conferred the ownership rights to accused persons mentioned in the complaint. "They even tampered with the records for monetary gain and further attested Mutation No. 111 dated 26.08.1998 with respect to land measuring 32 kanals in khasra No. 32, the complaint said.
On receipt of this complaint, an enquiry was initiated in Crime Branch, Jammu and during the course of enquiry, it has been found that in conspiracy with the then Revenue Officials Balwant Raj then Tehsildar and Ram Lal the then Patwari by invoking powers u/s 121 of Land Revenue Act changed the nature of land from Ghair-Mumkin Choi to Warhal Awal in the revenue record by sheer abuse of their official position with the intention to give undue benefit to the accused persons and accordingly a formal case stands registered and investigation of the case is on. It will be in place to mention here that two similar cases have already been registered under FIR No.7/2012 and 8/2012 against some other Revenue Officials and private persons.
Crime branch Jammu has booked Balwant Raj the then Tehsildar, Ram Lal the then Patwari, Sardari Lal, Madan Lal, Shiv Ram, Kishore Kumar sons of Munshi Ram all residents of village Nandni and Romesh Lal S/o Naseebu R/o Nandni Tehsil Jammu for changing the ownership rights of complainants over the major chunk of land measuring 53 kanal 04 marlas in all.
