Lack of quorum in Lower House- entire opposition stages walk-out in protest | | | Bashir Assad Jammu, Mar 19; For the first time since February 23 when the ensuing Budget Session of Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly commenced, entire opposition was united and staged walk-out from the House in protest against lack of quorum in the House. Minutes after the second sitting started here with Deputy Speaker Sartaj Madni in chair to discuss grants for Education, Youth Services and Sports Departments, entire opposition was up in arms against ruling coalition of which only 10 members were present in the House at the given point of time. Peerzada Mansoor Hussain of PDP who raised the issue of lack of quorum in the House irritated the entire opposition which shouted loudly on treasury benches for making a mockery of the proceedings of the house. However, Deputy Speaker Sartaj Madni made repeated requests to opposition not to stage walk-out but the opposition did not pay any heed and left the House. In the meantime, Law and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Ali Muhammad Sagar entered the House and asked the opposition to stay back but he too failed to convince the opposition. On this Deputy Speaker adjourned the House for some time. Soon, Abdul Gani Minister for Higher Education, G A Mir, Shabir Khan, Peerzada Muhammad Sayed and Ch.
