PM's revised job package under examination: Bhalla | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Mar 20: State government today said a revised package of appointing 3000 members of Kashmiri Pandit community in government jobs is under examination of the finance department. Replying to a calling attention notice in Legislative Council, Minister for Revenue, Relief and Rehabilitation Raman Bhalla informed the House that a revised package of appointing 3000 members of Kashmiri Pandit Community is under examination of finance department and shall be submitted to the Center for approval. Minister said under the Prime Minister's package, 3000 posts were created and separate rules were notified for making recruitment against these posts. He said the Service Selection Board has made selection of 1,925 candidates for different categories of posts and orders have already been issued in favour of 1,922 candidates, out of which 1,287 have joined so far in the Valley. Minister said that so far the selection of 800 de-reserved posts of various categories is concerned, the Services Selection Board was requested to furnish the selection of candidates against these de-reserved posts out of the merit list already prepared under general category of migrants. The services Selection Board, however, did not agree due to some legal complicacies and the matter was accordingly referred to the Law Department which raised some observations. Protesting against the state government for "delay" in implementation of Prime Minister's employment package for youth of the displaced community, Kashmiri Pandit youths continued their strike and dharna for seventh consecutive day here today. |
