CJ issues notice for transfer of petitions from Srinagar to Jammu

Jammu, Mar 20: High court chief justice F M Ibrahim Kalifulla has issued notice to the authorities concerned in an application filed by two BJP MLAs for transfer of a case from Srinagar to Jammu. The application has been filed by MLAs Jugal Kishore and Ashok Khajuria MLA seeking transfer of three petitions filed by MLA Gharu Ram and others, MLA Jagdish Sapolia and others and MLA Baldev Raj pending in the Srinagar wing of the high court. After hearing the two sides, the chief justice issued notice to law commissioner, justice and parliamentary affairs department, J&K legislative assembly through its speaker, speaker JKLA, chairman J&K legislative council and MLAs Gharu Ram, Bharat Bhushan, Baldev Raj, Jagdish Sapolia, Lal Chand and Durga Dass -- returnable in two weeks and directed Registry to list the case immediately after two weeks.
