| Narco smuggler held with about 2 kg charas | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Mar 20: A Tata Mobile driver was today apprehended by police near Karlah nullah check post at Kud in Udhampur along with nearly two kilograms of charas.SSP, Udhampur, Shakeel Ahmad Beigh said police intercepted a Tata Mobile (JK02AU/2835) near Karlah Nullah check post for routine checking.
The frisking of its driver led cops to the recovery of 1.7 kg charas, he added.
The accused, who was identified as Suraj Parkash, son of Madan Lal of Sumah, Akhnoor, was then arrested and booked under section 8/20 of NDPS Act. The vehicle was also seized.
The SSP said a record quantity of 200 kilograms of charas had been seized by Udhampur police during special drive against narcotic smugglers in the district. |
