| Bandh call by Sarafa association | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Mar 20: Sarafa Association Jammu (SAJ) under the chairmanship of president Parjan Kumar Jain staged Dharna at chowk chabutra and they have extended 72 hours band call for further 48 hours starting from today.
President Parjan said that the dharna has been extended for not fulfilling the genuine and rightful demands of swanker all over the country by expelling the enhancement of excise duty etc by the union Government.
He further said that they have been crushed and broken their backs. 1962 episode is still echoing our ears and the swarmkars have not yet come out of the brunt. He added during December there was 1% increase in taxes and immediately thereafter 1% was enhanced within shortest time and now 2% increase in taxes during budget announcement. He redicled the union govt. regarding imposing 1% duty on non-branded jewellerey which is in other words is total breakdown of swaenkars. |
