Bank topples Forest via tie-breaker; lifts Rajiv Gold Cup Football

JAMMU, Mar 20: Jammu and Kashmir Bank team toppled JK Forest in a thrilling contest by nine goals to eight (9-8) via tie-breaker to lift the 2nd Rajiv Gandhi Gold Cup Cricket Tournament trophy at GGM Science College football ground, here today.
Earlier, the match ended with scores leveled at 2-2 in the stipulated time. The first goal was scored by JK Forest side by Rizwan Shafi in the 25th minutes and second goal scored by Zameer-ul-Hassan in the 80th minute. In the JK Bank side first and second goals scored by Ibram in the 54th and 61st minutes respectively.
Finally referees applied the tie-breaker rule. From JK Bank, Ibrahim, Rizwan, Jasveer, Khalid, Adil Qadir, Aman and Satveer converted the penalty shoot to goal. And JK Forest side Rizwan Shafi, Waseem, Umar, Mansoor, Naseer, Azhar converted the penalty shoot to goal. But Jagdish not converted the goal. Finally JK Bank won the match by 9-8. Arshid Ali, Rizwan Shafi, Khalid Umar, Waseem, Zameer-ul-Hassan of JK Forest team were shown yellow cards, while Khalid Qyoom and Aman Thapa of Bank team received the same treatment for foul play.
The match was officiated by Suresh Kumar, Gagan Kumar, Vijay Kumar and Sohan Kumar. RS Chib, Minster for Medical Education, Technical Education and Youth Services and Sports was the chief guest on the occasion, who distributed prizes among the winners and runners up teams in presence of Sham Lal Sharma, Minister for Health, Bashir Ahmed Naaz, Chairman, Gujjar Bakerwal Board, Kuldeep Verma, Vice Chairman OBC, Kiran Wattal, Secretary J and K State Sports Council, Tafazul Hussain, Executive President, JK Bank and Vinod Ranjan, Principal, Chief Conservator JK Forest.
Prominent among others present on the occasion were Surinder Singh Bunty, Resident Secretary JKFA Jammu Wing, Jenab Zameel Thakur, Dr Nirmolak Singh, SP Paramjeet Singh, Majeed Kakroo, Naazeer Ahmed, Harbans Lal, David Masih, Yusuf Don, Narinder Gupta and others.
