Punjabi play enthrals audience at Abhinav | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Mar 20: What history has done cannot be undone. One of the sad historical facts is India's partition. It is not a surprise that it inspired many creative minds to write plays, stories and make films over the last few decades. Today's play, staged as part of Academy's annual drama festival, highlights the tragic circumstances, which caused the plight of the people. More than this, the plays has shown how partition dehumanized people in both the countries. The play is an unending story of pain and sufferings, both physical and mental. Written by Dr. Atamjit Singh - Rishtyaan Da Kee Rakhiye Naa - unfolds a spectrum of views about the partition, geographical divisions and attitudes. The play may be telling a seventy-years-old tale, but looks fresh and relevant even today. It transcends the geographical, cultural and linguistic barriers. What made 'Rishtyaan Da Kee Rakhiye Naa' watchable was the remarkable performance of its cast comprising Tejendra Singh Premee, Tej Paul Singh Marshal, Ajay Sharma, Harishpal Singh Bedi, Gorav Sharma, Vijay Kumar Sharma, Divya Sahni, Pt. Makhan Lal Shastri, Neha Verma, Tarun Sharma, Sidharth Sharma, Amrik Singh, Vivek Salotra, and Rajan Sharma. Directed by Tejinder Singh Premi - 'Rishtyaan Da Kee Rakhiye Naa' would be remembered for its poignant scenes. |
