| First ever 'book fair' concludes in Poonch | | | Early Times Report
Poonch, Mar 20: A two-day book fair was organized by DIET Poonch under RMSA, concluded here today which was visited by a large number people especially from the students from the area.
DDC Poonch, Ajeet Kumar Sahu was the Chief Guest on the concluding occasion who in his address, appreciated the initiative of DIET Poonch for organizing such an event to encourage writers and readers in Poonch District.
He recommended for an open library system to inspire the students to have a glimpse and knowledge of the world. "Decline in book culture among the present generation is a cause of concern and efforts should be made from all sections to revive this culture among them as there is no substitute of books," he added
Large number of students from various educational institutions came to gain first hand knowledge about the work done by local writers.
The main attraction of the Book fair was the books of Shiv Rattan Poonchi awarded by Urdu Cultural Academy in 2005, Dr O P sudan's Book Anjali, Dr Farooq Mughals Books, Thakur janak Singh's, Masood ul Hassan's poetry Books.
Anwar Khan Sr lecturer conducted the whole proceedings where Subhash Khajuria, Vijay Puri (HOD'S) also spoke on the occasion.
Later, a Mushiara was organized in DIET Poonch in which large number of Poets participated and presented their talent amidst applause from audience. |
