| Army dedicates furniture to Government high school, Seri | | | Jammu, Jan 23 As a part of Military civic action programme under ‘Operation Sadbhavana’ The Army gifted furniture and infrastructure items to Government High School, Seri in Nowshera Tehsil of District, Rajouri today. The High School provides education to over 300 children of adjoining ten villages. Commander Mountain Lion Artillery Brigade inaugurated the function. Village sarpanches, School children and other important civil and military officials were also present to witness the handing over ceremony. The School children presented a cultural programme in honour of the Commander. The Mountain Lion Artillery Brigade presented 30 desks and benches, two tables, four almirahs, four chairs, two blackboards with easel and two durries in an impressive function attended by large gathering in the school premises. The items were handed over to Headmaster and his staff. The active participation of the locals and Army in these events has made ‘Operation Sadbhavana’ not only a great success but has also resulted in establishment of better understanding between the Army and the local populace which could contribute immensely in ensuring peace in the region, said a PIB (Defence Wing) release. |
