KP intellectuals persuading PK factions, others to put a united face before Govt on return

Early Times Report
Jammu, Mar 20: With various KP organizations vying for return and rehabilitation of displaced Pandits to Valley and implementation PM's package on war footing there is a rethinking among the main stream KP organizations over the issue.
Though all the three factions of Panun Kashmir (PK) are totally opposed to return of displaced pundits to Valley under prevailing circumstances, the Kashmiri pandit Conference (KPC), Kashmir Samiti Delhi (KSD) are also opposed to return to Valley and favour settlement of community at a single consolidated place with free flow of Indian Constitution. In addition to it All State Kashmiri Pandit Conference (ASKPC) an old organization of KPs also favours settlement of community at a single consolidated place with free flow of Indian Constitution.
However various other organizations of Pandits including some groups of unemployed youth demanding the implementation of PM's employment package have shown their willingness to return to valley and join their duties there. Out of 3000 for which advertisements were issued in 2010, over 1400 displaced youth despite the repeated pleas by protagonists of homeland movement not to join their duties in Valley have returned there over a year back and rest are demanding issuance of orders in their favour also.
Favouring return of community to Valley the All India Kashmiri Conference in its global KP meet here last month demanded a satellite township for the community in Kashmir for its settlement with political empowerment. However this formula was next day contradicted by one of its constituents who gave an idea of carving out of twin townships in Kashmir with secular character where the members from Muslim and Sikh communities can also be settled without giving a thought to the idea that this characteristics is prevailing in entire Valley and even after the mass migration of Pandits in 1989-90 there are isolated villages where Pandits, Sikhs and Muslims live so fun of carving out of twin townships with such a character is meaningless. The community people while questioning such formula said that what is the fun of settling the Pandits in entire Valley as was prevalent prior to 1989-90.
However after the recent act of the police recruits from Valley at district police Lines Kathua after Pakistan was defeated in one day international match with India. The PK leaders while turning the attention of displaced people supporting the return said that the Kathua act is an eye opener for such people. ``The people in uniform who take oath to protect the national unity and integrity have raised anti national slogans even in jammu region so what can be expected from such people in Valley'', said Ramesh Kumar a strong protagonist of separate homeland for Pandits in valley.
He said when these recruits could dare to raise anti national slogans here what one can expect from them in case tomorrow India registers another victory over Pak after the return of community to Valley. This is the basic contradiction and to avert harassment and humiliation in future the PK has decided no compromise on homeland demand.
It is the majority community which rejected the co-existence in Valley, said Pawan Kaul another supporter of homeland movement. Terming the prevailing circumstances challenging for community Kaul said some well thinking people.
In the community are thinking to prevail upon all the three factions of PK and other likeminded organizations including KPC, Delhi Samiti and ASKPC to form a united front and put a united face of community before the government on return issue as any decision taken by the self styled leaders will prove inimical to community interests in longer run.
