Cracks of dissenions start in Azad led Cong faction | Ministry rumour fallout: Secret meetings being convened | | Early Times Report Jammu, Mar 21: Senior Congress leader Jugal Kishore Sharma entry into the Upper House has not augured not well for smooth and cordial relations between leaders in state unit of congress. For party stalwart and Union Health Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad who is said to have 'pushed' ball into moving fold and finally get the move clicked for his Jugal, believed to be his loyalist, trouble has started which may not augur well for retaining his flock in order and the 'flag' of his faction high in the political air and space of the state. If sources are to be believed, chinks and cracks have started appearing in his faction of loyalists following Jugal Kishore's smooth entry into the Legislative Council, as the contendors are looking at it this as development as favor to 'Azads blueyed boy' . Sources said that these leaders in secretly convened meetings are raising eyebrows and even questioning about the next move of Azad with regard to cabinet reshuffle and expansion, speculations of which have already started making around. According to sources, cracks of dissensions and disgruntlement has started and even appearing within those who were considered to be staunch loyalists of Azad. Two ministers, one of them at the top level in the coalition government, in spite of being very close to Azad did not attend the celebration rally of Jugal nor were they seen with the senior leaders who accompanied Jugal on the day of filing nomination papers. Sources said the two leaders who have never opposed Azad's any political move or overture, are not happy with Jugal Kishore's entry into the Upper House for their own assessment of power strategies. The duo have maintained distance from Jugal so far. Reports also suggest that the main camp of loyalits who include Janak Raj Gupta, Arivinder Singh Micky, G M Saroori , Romesh Kumar and few more leaders who matter in the state unit of the party too are not happy with Azad's move this time. All these leaders barring Gharu Ram , were absent in the victory celebrations organised at party headquarters at Shahidi Chowk. However, what may cause real problem and serious dissensions within this faction is the resentment brewing up among the contendors from Chenab Valley segment who are waiting for getting accomodated in the cabinet on this chunk which lies vacant and has to be filled up by someone from this belt alone. If speculations and rumours are to be believed in the political corridors, the leaders, three of them senior legislators and former ministers are in the grip of the fear and apprehension that Azad's next move may be pushing Jugal Kishore for ministerial berth. Sources said secret meetings have started in some pockets with those who matter discussing the issue serioulsy and deciding the 'qucik' moves that may be seen in the event of this getting materialised. Sources even said one of the former ministers has gone on to the extent of saying it 'quits' and take extreme step of calling it a day with the party along with his support base if he is not accomodated in the ministry and if the lone slot from Doda kishtwar belt is given to Jugal Kishore. On the other hand, the other faction led by JKPCC president Prof Saif-uDin Soz has has adopted studied silence over what is going on within the Azad camp. Sources said even though Prof Soz extended 'last minute' support to the nomination of Jugal Ksihore at the time of clearing his name from New Delhi, for now in the backdrop of the rumours and speculations over Jugal's name being pushed again by Azad, is for now adopting 'wait and watch' strategy. |
