Month long workshop starts | | | Early Times Report KATHUA , Mar 21 : A month long workshop on " Skill orientation and Self Employment Generating Scheme for Rural Women" was inaugurated by Prof. (Dr.) Nater Singh Principal in Centre for Women Studies of Government Degree College, Kathua. Thirty five (35) rural women and girls between the age-group of 15 to 40 years shall participate in the workshop from the neighbouring villages of Kathua The participants would be taught fabric paintings, decoration items from wasteful material, toy making, preparing pickles, jams, sauces etc. by the experts. Dr. Nater Singh Principal of the College was the Chief Guest. Speaking on the occasion Principal of college urged the participants to make best possible use of such programmes. In his inaugural speech Dr. Singh said that the main purpose of this workshop is to provide empowerment amo-ng the rural women of district Kathua in shape of skill and overall awareness about socio-economic spheres of our society. The inaugural function was also graced be the faculty members, N.G.O. Mahila Mandal Badala, girl boarders of the hostel, resource persons apart from the participants. Earlier Dr. Sujata Slathia, Director of the Centre welcomed the guests and participants and highlighted the achievement of the Centre. |
