| People block Kishtwar-Sgr road near Dadpath | | | early times report
Jammu, Mar 21: People of Khanpura village of Chatroo today blocked the Kishtwar-Srinagar national highway near Dadpath for more than two hours as a result of which the vehicular movement was blocked.
They were protesting against a contractor and the R&B officials constructing Dathpath-Meen Kuchhan road.
They alleged that due to the unplanned rock cutting, the boulders slipped regularly as a result of which the passage of the river was blocked and the overflowing water was entering the local graveyard.
When contacted, Chatroo tehsildar Shoukat Hayat Mattoo said that due to dumping of debris on the bank of the river, its passage was blocked as a result of which the water level was increased, threatening the nearby graveyard.
He said R&B executive engineer had been asked to clear the blockade.
The tehsildar said after the agitating people came to know about the administration's action, they dispersed off peacefully.
