JAMMU, Mar 21: Janta Dal (United) Jammu and Kashmir has declared Inder Mohinder Tar Singh as his new state president after the election conducted by the state election officer.
While addressing a press conference Tar Singh thanked all the members of Janta Dal family who came across the state and elected him as state president one again by showing full confidence in him and disclosed that the state executive committee shall be announced after the discussion with the senior leaders.
He further said that the recent destruction in valley due to heavy storms is of great concern and this natural calamity has destroyed properly worth millions and showed harmony for the effected peoples of Kashmir.
He also said that he was the first who demanded for the Disaster Management department in the state but it is unfortunate and highly condemnable that the state government has not crated this department but it exists on the papers only.
He urged upon the government to take immediate steps to make the situation conducive in the valley and said that the department should become effective and active so that the primary school students can understand and know what do during such kind of disasters as our state comes under the seismic zone and is highly earthquake prone area.
"Those who got affected by this natural calamity should be immediately shifted to the cities and their property must be maintained by the state government and proper compensation should be paid to the effected ones" he added.
He condemned the involvement of cabinet ministers and others in the corrupt practices and said that the present government has failed on all the fronts and demanded that the tainted ministers and officials should be dropped immediately.
He further extended its support to the cause of refugees and other displaced persons and demanded that the grievances of EP tenants should be redressed and ownership rights should be given to the tenants immediately and the custodian department which has become a den of corruption should be abolish immediately.
He also condemned the formation of NCTC and appealed to the state government to play a vital role in the abolishing the same.
