| Prof Soz talks about Kashmir windstorm in Rajya Sabha | | | Srinagar, Mar 21: State Congress President, Prof Saifuddin Soz Wednesday invited attention of the Rajya Sabha through the Chairman towards the disastrous storm that engulfed Kashmir valley during the last two days.
He urged Government of India to take notice of the storm in which roof tops of hundreds of houses were blown off and lot of damage was caused to the property.
"I told the house that there was a report that there were some deaths also. I urged the Central Government to send a team from National Disaster Management Authority to Kashmir immediately and assess the loss to property and see in what way it can supplement the State Government's effort to offer relief to the victims," Soz said. Subsequent, he has also written to Union Home Minister on the subject and urged him to take necessary action. |
