Chemistry women win table tennis title | Inter-department men's indoor events from March 27 | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Mar 22: Department of Chemistry clinched the table tennis title outplaying The Business School 2-0 in the final of the inter-department sports meet (indoor games) of University of Jammu for women concluded on the campus, here today. In the first singles, Samriti defeated Manasvi in straight equal sets of 11-07, 11-07 while Komika outplayed Punima, again in identical straight sets 11-06, 11-06. Law School wins badminton final Meanwhile, the Law School bagged the badminton trophy after they beat their seniors from Department of Law 2-0 in the final. In first singles, Deepanshi beat Heena Sharma 21-07, 21-12 and Natasha trounced Upasana 21-09, 21-10 in second singles. Physical Education excels in Carrom The inter-department carrom title went to Department of Physical Education, who beat Department of Commerce 2-0. While Jyoti Devi beat Preeti Slathia 2-0, Priyanka Khajuria registered win over Rupali Mahajan 2-0 in best of three games. Business School bags Chess title The Business School excelled in Chess competition after they beat Department of Commerce 2-0 in the final played today. The Results: Sukanshi bt Rupali Mahajan while Purnima Bhatia outplayed Parul Khajuria. Today's matches were officiated by penal of officials including Vishal Sharma, Ganga, Chander Kiran, Wasim, Arun Kumar, Taranpal Singh and Rakesh Verma. Meanwhile, as per the Physical Training Instructor (PTI) Campus, Romesh Sharma, the indoor competitions in men's section shall start from March 27 at the same venue. However, the men's will take part in an additional event of volleyball. |
