Legal Stars, Paradise XI enter semis

JAMMU, Mar 22: One of the title contenders, Legal Stars XI and Paradise XI today qualified for the semifinals of the ongoing cricket tournament of Bar Association of Jammu at University of Jammu ground, here.
In the first quarterfinal, Legal Stars registered a huge 61-run win over Sunrise XI. Earlier, batting first, after winning the toss, Legal Stars set a challenging target of 140 runs losing just one wicket in given 12 overs, which, in reply, Sunrise could not chase and the whole side bowled out for just 78 runs.
All-rounder, AP Singh played brilliant innings of 65 runs while Pranav Kohli and Gourav Jamwal contributed 38 and 21 runs respectively. From Sunrise, Rajesh Khah took the only wicket lost by Legal Stars.
Later, chasing a run-rate of near 13 runs per over, Sunrise bowled out half way for 78 runs. Rajesh Khah and Varinder Bhat remained top scorers with 29 and 15 runs in their respective accounts. From Legal Stars, Irfan and Pranav Kohli took two wickets each while AP Singh and Vivek shared apiece each.
Meanwhile, in another quarterfinal of the day, Paradise XI defeated Legal Warriors by nine runs.
Earlier, batting first, Sahil Aggarwal and Guru Partap helped Paradise made 121 runs for the loss of three wickets in allotted 12 overs. While Sahil completing his half century making 51 runs, first class cricketer, Guru Partap added 48. Ravi Abrol contributed 10 runs and Ravi Dogra remained unbeaten at one. Vimarsh Kaw and Vikas took one wicket each from Legal Warriors.
Batting second, Legal Warriors could make only 112 runs losing six wickets. Vimarsh Kaw was top scorer with 44 runs, followed by Shashi Koul and Atul Andotra, who added 25 and 17 runs respectively. Ajay Manhas was most successful bowler with three wickets while Guru Partap bagged two and Sahil took one.
Other Results: Pre-quarterfinals: Legal Warriors bt Legal Tigris XI by 10 runs; Sachin XI bt Tigers XI by 45 runs.
