| Simula XI beat JKAP to reach final | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Mar 22: Simula XI today reached the final of 2nd Martyrs' Memorial T20 Cricket Cup beating Jammu and Kashmir Armed Police (JKAP) XI at MA Stadium, here.
Batting first, JKAP XI scored 152 for the loss of four wickets. Yasir scored 56 runs, while Akshay and Shashi contributed 30 and 21 runs respectively. From Simula XI, Ram Dayal took two wickets while Vikram claimed one. In reply, Simula XI, reached the target in 19 overs thereby won the match by four wickets. Shubam remained top scored with 52 runs, while Gulzar added 48. From JKAP XI, Sanjeet and Yasir claimed two wickets each. For his superb batting, Shubam was adjudged man of the match.
Women Cricket: 9-wkt win for Queen' Blues
Meanwhile, in women cricket cup, Queen's Blues registered a nine-wicket win over Queen's Green. After winning the toss, Queen's Green made 77 runs in the allotted 15 overs for the loss of five wickets. Meenu and Jasvinder were main scorers with 34 and 24 runs respectively. Isha and Surekha took two wickets each from Queen's Blue Batting second, Queen's Blue won the match by nine wickets. Anju was top scorer with unbeaten 35 runs while Surekha and Rupali made 18 and 14 runs respectively. Mehak of Queen's Green took the only wicket lost by Queen's Blue.Anju was declared Women of the match for his all-round performance. Today's matches were officiated by JD Singh, Sudhir Singh, Sohail, Nitu and Amit. |
