Center sanctions 6 ANM, 5 GNM schools for State: Sham
Rs. 40 crore released as first installment

JAMMU, Mar 22- Minister for Health and Family Welfare, Sham Lal Sharma has said that Center has sanctioned establishment of 11 Nursing schools for the state, adding that for the purpose the concerned Union Minister has released Rs. 40 crore grant in aid for opening of these schools as first installment. This was stated by the Minister in reply to a question by Mr. Sajjad Ahmed Kitchloo in Legislative Assembly here today. He said out of 11 ANM and GNM schools, the construction work of 4 ANM and 3 GNM school buildings are under progress. He said government is considering to make all these nursing schools functional subject the private accommodation would be made available in remote districts like, Kishtwar etc. till the land for construction of accommodation for the purpose would be arranged.
The Minister said that 64 posts of Doctors, specialists and para medical staff has already been created for newly created district hospital Kishtiwar, while as 60 posts of Doctors of different categories and para medicos sanctioned for Ramban district Hospital and 48 posts of medicos and para medicos created for newly district Hospital Kulgam.
The Minister said that creation of addition posts of medicos and para medicos for newly district hospitals Bandipora, Shopian, Ganderbal, Reasi and Samba would be considered as soon as infrastructure is completed in all respects.
The Minister said that government is exploring the possibilities of providing CT Scan facilities to the district hospitals in a phased manner. He said 103 posts of physiotherapists for district and sub district hospitals have been created and same have been referred to SSRB for recruitment.
The Minister said that 87 Kanals of land have been identified for construction of Unani College at Lar Ganderbal which stands transferred to health department. He said for construction of Ayurvedic College at Jammu alternate land of 93 kanals have been identified at Sangni Akhnoor and matter regarding transfer of land have been taken up with Revenue Department.
