| Militant killed in Pattan encounter | | | Early Times Report
Srinagar, Mar 22 : Police on Thursday said that a local militant waskilled in an encounter in Pattan area of north Kashmir'sBaramulla district.
"Acting on specific information about the presence of militants in Chanderhama area of Pattan,Police assisted by security forces laid a siege of the area, this afternoon.The advance party was fired upon by the holed up militants, which wasretaliated and in the ensuing encounter, one Lashkar-e-Toiba militant, NissarAhmad Magray alias Shakti son of Ghulam Qadir of Kilwara-Tangmarg, was killed,"Police claimed.
One AK-47 rifle, two- AK magazines,two- grenades and some rounds of AK ammunition were recovered from thepossession of slain militant, police added. |
