| Workshop on "Manuscriptlogy and Paleography" concludes | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Mar 22: The valedictory function of three week long workshop on "Manus criptlogy and Paleography" was today held in the Prof. Gian Chand Jain, Seminar Hall of the Urdu Department, Jammu University.
The three week long workshop on Manuscripts was organized by Department of Urdu, University of Jammu in collaboration with National Mission for Manuscripts, Ministry of Culture, Govt. of India.
On the valedictory function MLA Kulgam Mohd Yousuf Tarigami was the chief guest, Vice Chancellor, University of Jammu M.P Singh Ishar presided over the function, while Deputy Director Archives Peerzada Ashraf and Khawja Irkam representative Nation Mission Manuscripts , Ministry of Culture, Govt. of India were the Guest of Honors on the occasion. Tarigami in his address lauded the efforts of Udru deptt. for the successful organization of 3-week long work shop and said that under the leadership of new Vice Chancellor, M.P.Singh Ishar the University of Jammu especially the Urdu department will scale the new heights of success. In his Presidential address M.P. Singh Ishar congratulated Department of Urdu for organizing three week workshop on a very important theme. He said that manuscripts are our treasure and we should not only preserve them but also to provide informations regarding the Manuscripts to the younger generations.
Later Vice Chancellor distributed certificates to the participants of workshop
Mohd Reyaz Ahmed thanked all the guests by presenting formal vote of thanks. A large number of students, scholars, teachers and civil society members attended the function. |
